Barcelona is a colorful and energetic city on the Northeastern coast of the Iberian Peninsula. It is the second most populous city in Spain, as well as the capital of all of Catalonia. Barcelona is deeply rooted in a colorful history and cultural tradition, and that is apparent in the grand Gothic and  intriguing modern architecture, especially by that of Gaudí, that peppers the city. The people are creative and lively, and they are filled with enthusiasm and pride about their city and what is has to offer. Barcelona is also a distinctly Mediterranean city, because of its geography and its history. Having been founded as an ancient Roman colony in the 2nd century B.C., it has managed to retain a great deal of those influences despite occupations by the Visigoths, the Muslims, the French, and through the period of industrialization in modern times.

Located in southern Spain, Sevilla is a stylish and charming city with its origins in ancient history, and with its hear firmly planted on its sleeve. Today, Sevilla is the provincial capital of the Comunidad Autónoma de Andalucía, and is filled with over 700,000 exuberant residents.

The largest of Spain’s Canary Islands, the words “paradise” and “exotic” are often used when describing beautiful Tenerife. Tapas are small meals similar to American appetizers that are served throughout Spain. In fact, there are many dining establishments that serve just tapas and beverages. These restaurants are called Tascas. 
The second largest of the Canary Islands and the closest to the African Coast, Fuerteventura is thought to be the oldest of all the volcanic islands that make up this fascinating and inviting archipelago.
Some may not know this, but Spanish foods are a world apart from Mexican food dishes. True Spanish foods, dishes that derive from Spain, are rich with peppers, seafood and cheese. Just as pizza styles are different in various parts of the United States, so are the dishes and ingredients as you travel through Spain.
